Cameron Ryan

Cameron Ryan is a self taught artist from Maryland. Originally born in Takoma Park, he has always found himself gravitating to art, but especially illustration. For the last 12 years Cameron’s career as a contracted weatherman has taken him across the US, these travels have provided opportunities to showcase and sell art from coast to coast. Along with being a self taught painter, illustrator, and poet; Cameron enjoys playing music and photographing his journey through life. Cameron’s love of art first manifested itself as childhood comic book and manga drawings and eventually painting, during his early years at Albert Einstein High School. With his medium evolving, his subjects quickly followed suit and he began to define himself as a portrait artist – this subject has remained at the center of his career as a painter and illustrator. Cameron presently finds his art revolving around the topics of psychology and larger social issues regarding technology while still maintaining a playful approach to color and mark making as a means of engaging his audience. While primarily a painter, Cameron does not allow his medium to define his art but rather for his art to decide which medium is necessary to express itself.

“I’m not interested in art in terms of making a living, I’m interested in art in terms of living a life”. - Robert Henri,
